one of the main reasons why I went to work at the VA was so I wouldn’t be the crazy guy in the room anymore. never had anyone ask me that I can remember
but, I did hear it from others I worked with that they thought I was.
in a way, it is a good thing, they stop asking you about stupid shit.
didn’t get invited to many parties, but if their ass was in trouble, I was the first one they called or asked for.
that gets old fast.
Oh yeah Dave, it does, gets old fast. Try having a pick up and a trailer… you are asked to help “move” them and what do you get? bad assed pizza and soft drink if you are lucky. It got to a point I would tell them a full tanks of gas as I had a factory 30 gallon and a 40 gallon auxiliary and $500 bucks a day and I don’t lift a box or a piece of furniture as I am just the drayage service, I supervised loading and drive to your new abode… Another one was since I was a nurse in a hospital I could “get” them prescription drugs on the down-low, ya right… I get caught, losta la vista my licence and spend quality time with the brothers in Oregon State Prison whom I did therapy work, now the state gets to use my expertise for pennies… Fuck Them All.
I knew better than to get a pickup truck. and when I did have one. NO. I am not helping you move.
Yes, I *AM* a computer expert.
NO, I will not help you fix yours…
While in college, my sons wanted a pickup.
They said it was a great way to meet girls that needed stuff moved.
Ha, When me and my buds were all early married couples standard fee was beer and pizza. Most pitched in but there were one or two I would not set their boxes down gently. Fortunately a few of us had trucks. Funny though after all those moves, some of them twice when it came to my move few were found but by then I could hire it out. Yeah, don’t spend much time with them anymore and life is a lot better. It’s amazing how many are fake and ghey.
yup. very few people even know where I am these days
and they sure do not have my number.
there are 4-5 people I keep in touch with anymore.
and as you say, life is good. it is a good thing to remove yourself from people who will use you for their own ends
this is not the first time I dropped off the grid as they say, but it is the final time.

I just answer:
“Yes. It’s much more fun than being sane.”

I think many would argue that I was ever sane.
It’s always best to keep them a little nervous.
