It’s not just the south. The Baptist church potlucks here are dyn-o-mite! The deserts alone are three tables long.
Waiting near the end of the line, the pastor and I agreed that we like to go last so that we can make total pigs of ourselves and nobody else cares.

I grew up Baptist in rural east Tennessee, so… yeah, this was my childhood.
We had Trunk-or-Treat last night, with a chili cook-off for added measure.

There are no fewer the FOUR delis within a 20-minute drive from my house where I can get such a sammich.
We had these at my granny’s church every third Sunday of the month. We very, very seldom missed them and all of the family children, cousins, such, got together to get to know each other. Something that doesn’t happen with families today … kinda sad.
