Would prefer to die on my feet, not on my knees.
Swords are honed, mags are full.
Time is SHORT, so Use your time Wisely!
Get off that phone or laptop and Get out there with your family and loved ones and Train with your Rifles!
Or machetes. In south Texas, a machete sure does come in handy. Seen more as a tool than a weapon, though plenty of people who are south of U.S. border use them as weapons too. I’ve got the shorter Cold Steel Bowie machete hung on my pack. No swords / katanas or like that here, I’m going for my handgun in those circumstances.
Hrrrmmmmmmmm. Sabres, eh?
I’d back that up with a good spontoon and a Bowie.
Have saber, katana and bowie all at the ready. Remember, a saber is used mainly to beat a man into a position where you can then run him through whereas a katana is razor sharp and can remove limbs or heads. Can’t be squeamish when using these tools, you will get bloodied, it’s them or you. FJB!
Everyone knows the object being sharpened is a scythe.
Could very well be. The angle of the blade is ambiguous to the stone as to the which side he is sharpening. A scythe, properly sharpened can hack a limb or head off. The sentiment still stands, sharpen all your tools, the storm is upon us…
I saw a sharpening stone mounted on a bicycle frame a while back on eBay it was pretty cool should have bought it.
a knife or sword fight is no joke. never did a sword fight, but I do have some time
in knife fighting back in the day. you are going to get cut, you are going to bleed
a lot. fast darting moves are the rule. watch you footwork ! and move, always move
if he is right handed, move to his right- he has less power that way. same thing for a lefty move to his left. did the primer back on the streets of philly in the day before guns. then got the advance course in the army and West Berlin fighting the Turks or Arabs there. still have the scars from it too. something you do not forget
either. and yes, I do have a few blades from back then still. if need be, they will be used again. still, I would much rather not.
remember the 21 foot rule. you see a clown with a blade coming towards you,
shoot the fucker while you can. and anything worth shooting once, should be shot again. there was a saying about hand to hand combat, why ? you get hurt,
mess up your hair and get blood on your boots. it is better to shoot the fucker
and keep your hands clean. but we did spend a lot of time doing hand to hand
back then. lots of pain, black and blue marks and what have you.
