Let’s take a critical look at the reasons given for President Trump’s brazen action in Venezuela, followed by threats of more military action in Colombia, Mexico, Greenland, etc.

The truth will never win any popularity contests because the loudest voices in the room right now are all spouting lies.
If you listen to those voices, many of them on Fox News, the January 3 kidnapping of Venezuela’s socialist dictator was a noble effort by a freedom-loving American president who seeks to set the captives free and bless us with cheap oil and endless prosperity. Many alternative media talkers, such as Alex Jones, have also latched onto this narrative.
They look at these operations in a vacuum as opposed to in the broad scope of history and the track record of previous regime-change operations. That record is long on blood, violence and pillage and short on freedom and democracy.
Those who depend on these influencers for their “news” tend to be folks who live in the moment and the feel-good emotions sparked by video clips they see being passed around on social media. They see liberated Venezuelans dancing in the streets amid overflowing jubilation.
And they drink the Kool Aid.
Riddle me this: How did Venezuela go from being the richest country in S. America to being nearly the poorest under Chavez and Maduro, with its people traveling to neighboring countries JUST TO BUY FOOD? Why are Venezuelans there and around the globe DANCING IN THE STREETS because Maduro is gone?
Why should the USA allow Venezuelan oil to be sold to our Communist enemies China and Cuba when that oil can reduce USA energy costs and thus reduce costs for every facet of our economy?
If the Demonrats and other Leftists keep their grubby paws out of what’s going to take place in Venezuela over the next 2-3 years, it will be delivered from THE HELL OF COMMUNISM and be well on its way BACK to the prosperity it once enjoyed.
Why shouldn’t the Venezuelan people AND the USA profit from that?
As to the Gold and other resources, leftists would rather have those things in the hands of the Chinese to further their global ambitions?
This country wouldn’t be in the shape its in today if the leftists, Demonrats, and illegal aliens, but I repeat myself, hadn’t been robbing us blind for past several generations.
A guy gets re-elected president after having been cheated out of his prior re-election, ends a half dozen wars around the globe IN LESS THAN HIS FIRST FULL YEAR IN OFFICE, about kills the main state sponsor of terrorism world wide, liberates another country from Communism while also cutting off one the avenues of drug smuggling into the USA and he’s the bad guy?

I guess I missed the part where we conquered Venezuela. AFAIK, the entire rest of the Chavista government is intact. The example of using the big stick might well result in some favorable trade deals – same tactic as swinging the tarrif bat, but more demonstrative.
But that article is a steaming pile. Like all such piles, there are some nuggets in there, but I won’t be holding my breath for the supposed end game.
