  1. Yes. Live within your means. Better yet, live below your means and put something aside for a rainy day, or to pass on to the progeny. I still buy what little I need from thrift stores. Except underwear. I will not buy used underwear 😁.

  2. When my husband and I got married 48 years ago, everyone said we’d never be able to survive unless we both worked at paying jobs. The more I was told that being a full-time homemaker and mother was impossible, the more determined I became to prove the skeptics wrong. And the guy is right; it’s not that difficult. Luckily, my husband and I were both raised to live within our means, so it came naturally to us.

    • It has and still works. Many not willing to sacrifice, for various reasons.

The marketing campaigns have been very effective

    • BoB, they just don’t teach that mindset today. As a married couple for 52 years, we determined that we were never going to afford the best, the newest, or even the item/service itself. We determined right after we were married for a year that it was CHEAPER for Mom to stay home ad run things and for Dad to go to work. Best decisions we ever made!

And i might add here that a homemaker and mother of children has one of the Hardest Jobs On Earth. Don’t let anybody tell you different.
