Nice to have a job like that.

Cadillac healthcare plan for life, tax paid (vacation) fact finding junkets, free or very low cost barber service, very low cost cafeteria privileges. Free postal rates, free security if needed, legal insider trading. I am sure there are other benefits we are not aware of. Nice job if you can get elected.

  1. “ very low cost cafeteria privileges” bullshit, I’ve eaten there. It’s free to those fuckers. It’s called the senate dining hall.

  2. I went back to school over 25 years ago and did a paper on SS. Told my wife we’ll be lucky if we ever collect a dime. It is not a savings or investment program, but a tax. The extra money has been used by congress with IOU’s placed into the fund. You know, congress will pay the money back if ever it is needed (wink, wink)

Lots of other statistics, but if our fiat currency loses its value, that doesn’t matter anyway.

The avg lifespan is 78 years. What do you do for 13 years? Then there are our bodies. I can still work as hard as I could at 20, for a few hours, but I need the next day off. And I’m in good shape. I know lots of guys that played and worked hard when young and that can barely move at age 60.

Older people should transition to jobs like school teacher. Just think how that would change education. Using older people to stock shelves and flip burgers when they have a wealth of experience to pass along is waste at Minnesota levels. IMHO.

    • Good thoughts. Except for the teacher part. You can’t teach without an education degree, even if you’re an expert in the subject matter. So a math degree won’t qualify anyone to teach math, they have to go back for a 2nd degree in education.

SS was created when lifespans were shorter and was always a pyramid scheme anyway. Raising the age makes sense.

It’s going to take a revolution to fix Congress and take away the freebies they’ve voted themselves.

    • SS is an insurance program against extreme poverty in old age. That’s why the collection of programs is called the Old Age Survivors and Disability Insurance program. It’s not a pension or investment and was never intended to be. It’s an income floor.
The tax/premium you pay today goes to pay seniors/survivors and the disabled today just like the homeowners premium you pay this year is used to pay for houses that burn down this year. Insurance.
Whether it survives or not is a political question.

    • SS is a ponzi scheme, always has been. And the dumbmasses are too lazy or stupid to sit down and do the arithmetic
Our tax dollars fund these rich politicians in their extravagant lifestyles and there’s no way in hell they will ever vote to cut off their free subsistence.
The brainwashing is beyond belief, as well as all the stupid and gullible fools who still think our gov’t works for the good of the common man.
We are tax cattle, to be used and discarded at will.

  3. Work til you’re 70. Just another fuckin spoon fed career politician. He’s nothing like his Dad. So fucking sad. Fuck you and the rest of you kenite lackey dick suckers.

  4. That is one of the much needed laws to be passed. Besides term limits there should be no pensions for Congress.

    • Am I ever on board with that. We bust ass for decades and they sit on their hands and screw us over daily and go into retirement with our labor paying for it.

    • We have term limits but are too foolish and corrupt to be able to apply them. They’re called elections. But people can’t seem to stop re-electing their incumbents. Our culture is based on sportsball and people are glued to their team red or team blue. Nobody will switch and vote for a 3rd (2nd) party out of hatred for the other team. And the league is fixed, the primaries are gamed to lock out any outside challengers.

  5. The benefits are ridiculous. Elected officials should get a 401K with the same % match received by the average American worker. Health care should be through Obamacare.

  6. I want term limits on all elected officials, all judges, and all government and contract workers. I also want them following the laws that they passed in other words if they pass Obamacare they have to use Obamacare and not some other government medical plan. I want no NGOs and no money going to foreign countries or groups except $1 per year to the UN so we can stay in place to stop things at the UN.

  7. Nancy Pelosi pension looks to be around us$110,000 annually.
This should go a long way to supplement her half-billion net worth she accumulated while in ‘public service’.
