  1. CederQ,
I too love the vintage Country Music, that stated I still like to listen to Brad Paisley as he has some great songs and is highly talented, JMHO!

  2. I don’t listen much to Country, but when I do, it’s the old stuff. I do recognize most of those folks. I’d add Ernest Tubb and Eddie Arnold to that montage.

  3. I’ll have to add a few 80’s that are worth listening to:
    1. George Strait
    2. Confederate Railroad
    3. Dwight Yoakum
    4. The Mavericks
    5. Ricky Skaggs

Hell, I didn’t even realize I listened to that much Country music.
I’m a solid Hag and Hank fan.

      • They are very pleasing to listen to and to look at! Very talented young ladies from Louisiana

  4. Yea… This so called country music is just not. At all. My base music pick is a county radio station in the background when working but its sad. I have however, found a couple local AM radio stations that play decent (sometimes great) music from my era. (60′-80’s+/-) Country with blues/bluegrass and… Uh, good ole music. Gordon lightfoot. Bread. John denver. LRB. Etc… Lots of other goodies that never get heard on local FM…

  5. Lots of favourites there. Willie’s in a class of his own and I’d also add Hank Snow, David Allen Coe, Lefty Frizzell, Patsy Cline, Toby Keith, Tom T. Hall and more . . .

    • They ain’t makin’ Jews like Kinky anymore, that’s for sure. R.I.P.

One of the times the Kinkster was running for governor of Texas, he said he was in favor of gay marriage because he thought they should have the right to be just as miserable as married straight people.

      • Kinky Friedman ran for our governor at one time. He had a great idea- pay the Mexican generals in charge of the US/Mex border 10mil$ a year. For each wet that gets through, deduct $10K.

  6. Not a fan of any Country Music. I like Rock/Heavy Metal.

Right now we are all free to listen to what we enjoy. I’m sure the New World Order will tell us differently…

  7. I’ve been developing a greater appreciation of Faron Young here lately. When Willie Nelson wrote “Hello Walls” everyone in Nashville thought it was stupid but Faron, as a favor to Willie, decided to take a shot at it and ran it up to number 1 on the charts.
On another note, go listen to the words of Del Reeves “Looking at the World Through a Windshield”. That middle verse would give the Climate Retards these days a case of the vapors.
