  1. One officer told me that with the license plate character recognition readers that check every car that goes by for registration, wants, and warrants they have on police cars that they have no time to watch for speeders. The thing goes off all the time. They just go from one stop to another based on plate readings. He said they have a credit card machine in the car to collect unpaid tickets.
On another note I got pulled over in Alabama 25 years ago doing about 95 in a 65 zone. I pulled over promptly and was polite and they only wrote me up for 72 mph. That was the last ticket I got. Alabama is never what you think it is. In my experience people there are pretty nice. (I just don’t wear my Aggie Dad shirt when there)

  2. I always find it amusing how Texas and Oklahoma tagged vehicles can suddenly do the speed limit when hitting the Kansas borders. The ones from Missouri still haven’t figured it out or they have all kinds of money to throw away.

  3. Rented a large V8 engine van for a vacation. I was driving with flow-of-traffic in Montana, which was a consistent 100 mph.
