I believe everything I read on the innerwebz.
I recently read Dr Marty McCary’s book (currently FDA director) Blind Spots. The state of medical education these days is pathetic. Our only hope is to stay as healthy as possible, and do our own due diligence as best we can.
The medical industry is only a nano better.
Few months back my brother broke his pelvis, half a million bucks was the bill. Yes stay out of hospitals. Some doc’s are ignorant clowns. Always remember elven the person who graduated last is still called doctor.
I can’t remember how many times I asked doctors, “Did you graduate last?” Yes, my mouth got me into trouble a few times, but I documented every thing and the docs were sub par and every one knew it.
Doctors are NOT taught critical thinking, they rely too much on books and journals.
The A.I. diagnostics seem to be getting MUCH better as it learns.
I saw three Drs. before I was told I had Rockey mountain tick fever after telling all of them I had been bitten by ticks recently. By then it took 3 days in the hospital to knock it down.
One out of five – Ouch ! I think given no doctors continue to use old methods to diagnosis, having a medic without modern tools would be almost back to R.N. or P.A. knowledge.
Now let’s break down the results according to nationality.
Have you noticed fewer and fewer white fellas as doctors? And more and more “dot forehead” folks, that speak too fast?
Oh and how about white women?
The best doctors I have ever had were former vets. They are use to looking at ALL the symptoms and using critical thinking to figure out what’s going on. Lab work is to confirm what they already suspect.
Its more than inability to diagnose. Must include the wanton disregard of standard procedure. The ego of some docs is incredibly inflated.
In an eight year period I was a patient of thirteen MDs all who are specialists in their field. From those thirteen, twenty-three diagnosis were made. Not unusual was every appointment with any particular specialist resulted in discarding a previous diagnosis and presenting a new diagnosis.
I followed a referral to a neurologist. That quack was an absolute joke. Subjective terms to describe very objective case of fraud. The office of that so-called top flight neurologist was shuttered by the state the month later. Several of that office were indicted. One specialist ‘examined’ me from across the room, then made a diagnosis. Every other specialist discarded that diagnosis.
That’s just the specialists. Not included is the assortment of non-specializing MDs. My primary doc finally asked, Is it important that what ails you have a name?
I said yes because then you’d know what to treat.
But she had a point. Treat the symptoms. That was the conclusion of the consensus of treating MDs.
Half a century in healthcare. Worked with hundreds perhaps thousands of doctors in that time. I can say with certainty that doctors are no longer capable of practicing medicine. All they know is test ordering. If the testing doesn’t give them the answer they keep ordering more tests. If they run out of tests they refer you to a different doctor. Then MORE tests. Eventually they either get the diagnosis or they run out of tests to order. Then you are SOL. Med schools don’t teach the practice of medicine. They teach test ordering. Clinical skills are no longer taught or required.
Three MDs over three months failed to diagnose mononucleosis. Granted, this may because mono is rare in middle aged white guys. But it is alarming for another reason.
Valley fever, a viral infection, has been epidemic in my county for decades. Mono is also a viral infection.
(Most, if not all, have mono lying dormant)
It was only after I had asked if they had looked for a viral infection that they tested for it. In a county which has been under a declared epidemic, they hadn’t tested for it. Testing for Verizon real infection was how they found what ailed me.
It had already been nigh four months of severe fatigue. Now I was looking at two more months of bed rest.
Have 2 half brother I met late in life. Both on west coast. One suffered from a chronic condition that no MD could diagnose. Other had gotten Valley Fever, which being a mid-western had never heard of, and was sick for months. Big man who was a rescue swimmer. Brother with diagnose problem finally solved problem when an opening appeared on side and was spewing ‘stuff’. Turned out gall bladder surgery had nicked the gall bladder and it pour all the ‘debris’ inside of him. It led to 3 years to cure.
Had 2 doc’s who in 2001 told me I would be in wheelchair within 5 years. Still upright and moving on my own.
Are there actually any ‘good’ doc’s out there?
Every doctor I’ve been to in the last 30 years has tried to presrcibe me some kind of medication while tests were done.
They are sanctified by the state drug dealers, that’s all.
But wait!…didn’t the PCR test allow doctors to diagnose covid in five minutes????
A PCR test is the biological equivalent of electronically amplifying noise. Practically useless once you have used more than 15 steps/iterations…
There are significant portions of the medical industrial complex that will kill you if they can get away with it. They are professional, certified poison pushers. Anybody not hear about the large bonuses given to the Docs that hit their quota for clot shots given? Almost all US med schools are socialist believers in Glow Bull Warming and the need to get rid of useless eaters. That’s you.
Masons and jooos “encourage” their kids to go into law, medicine, pharmacy, politics, finance and other “important” career fields. They make up the internal rot that is destroying America, with FUSA INC assistance.
I’m not sure if MDs were given bonuses, but I know they were penalized if their patients didn’t get the clot shot (vaxx). I was undergoing chemo for lymphoma during the Covid hysteria. The hospital threatened to fire me (and I’d lose health insurance and not be able to afford cancer treatment) if I didn’t get the vaxx. It was strongly hinted that even if I wasn’t fired, they’d withhold cancer treatment until I knuckled under.
After weeks of threats I responded in kind: “It anyone comes at me with a syringe of the vaxx I will consider it an attempt to do me permanent, life-altering injury. I will defend myself accordingly.” The doc and the PA stared at me for a long minute, then one said, “Are you threatening to shoot us?”
“I’m not threatening anyone. But I consider forcing someone to get the vaxx equivalent to pointing a loaded firearm at that person. And I can’t control how you interpret my statements.”
Eventually they called in an Infectious Diseases expert to talk/threaten me into compliance. But that woman sided with me (medically it makes no sense to give a “vaccine” that depends on training white cells to a patient in whom you’re killing the white cells with chemo). So she wrote me a clot shot exemption. I didn’t realize at the time that she was putting her job on the line for me, because the hospital admin had said(unofficially, through “rumor”) that they’d fire doctors who wrote exemptions.
That’s an example of the treatment I got as an MD who (more or less) understands the system. Now imagine the shit that gets fed to a regular person without medical knowledge, especially one who was taught to trust doctors.
Our medical system is capable of amazing things, but it’s also in shambles, with relatively poor outcomes. And medical education really is in the shit these days.
Thank you Mike, you heard it from him and you have been hearing from me. I wouldn’t trust 99.8% of the doctors today. If I lived close to Mike I would ask him to be my doctor… I preform chart audits for a risk management law firm and I am ashamed and disheartened and angry at what I am reading and viewing in medical charts. I have gotten so good at guessing if the doc is a dot indian or a paki just how they chart and their syntax and grammar and when I look up them up I am batting .950! I wouldn’t use as my primary.
Modern medicine is well and truly fucked. It has devolved into the traveling snake oil salesmen of old, just with a fancier office full of modern gadgets, and a more official looking uniform.
I’m a plumber and have seen septic tanks that aren’t as full of shit as some doctors I’ve dealt with. Thankfully my health is generally good, and I’ve been fortunate to minimize my need to interact with the medical profession in my adult life (was an accident prone child, so bad plenty of visits for injuries back in the day). That said, my one big dread of getting older is the likelihood I’ll have greater need for medical attention if my health starts to deteriorate. I really don’t want to have to deal with these assholes.
