Times Square circa 1975 was a trip. If you were there, you know.
Seems like a cross between “bad, bad, Leroy Brown…” and “Keep on Truckin…”
Ev’ry girl crazy ’bout a sharp-dressed man.
Right on, Jack
The Pimp Hand is strong with these two.
Work in Washoughl for several starting in 82
I am from Canby, across the river in Oregon and I used to go up quite a bit, had friends up there and a very distant cousin that lived there. It is funny Phil and me never met until four years ago as we grew up and hung around the same place in our youth including San Jose when my dad was transferred there and he lived less then five miles from me. Our stars orbited around each other and we didn’t know.
Hookers and Blow, The Breakfast of Champions
Bwahahahahahaha
hehehe
Almost makes me miss “beautiful” Atlantic City in the early to mid 80’s.
Apart from the clothes, you can tell it’s an old photo because zero out of the four are obese.
Ahh, the days of blacksploitation movies, land yachts with those stupid crown air fresheners and pillows in the rear window, and new kung fu flicks every week at the local theatre. Hideous clothes and huge pimp hats.
We poke fun and laugh, but… It’s a far better sight than the rags and tags on display by urban yout’s today! Not only is their skin completely covered, but it’s even stylish, dry-clean only clothes! What the hell happened that showing your underwear and naughty bits became a more desirable fashion statement?
Washougal….at least you were upwind of Camas
And I can knock Camas,
I grew up in Oregon City….I know what paper mills smell like
CederQ….I’m sure you can comment on that
I grew up in Canby, and yes, I remember going by the falls and puking… Only good spot was further south was the cedar mill right off of 99, it smelled like heaven and my namesake.
CederQ,
Come on now, it wasn’t that bad, a fragrant smell…
I probably could have handled working there, you get used to it.
Where was the mill to the south…I remember the TeePee burners down along 99.
Was that before South End and New Era?
We drove thru Canby several times a month
to visit family in Woodburn and Mt Angel
