It’s been dryer than a popcorn fart around here for months.
As in they literally declared a drought up here in the Pacific North West, the official home of the Mud Puddle.
It clouded up earlier today and it sprinkled a bit while I was at work.
The fucking cat was destroying the front door again a couple of minutes ago, clawing at the fucking thing wanting out, as usual. It’s either destroying the fucker from the outside wanting in or it’s destroying the inside wanting out.
Constantly.
So I got up a minute ago to let the mangy bitch out and decided that while I was up, I would step out and have a smoke.
It’s absolutely POURING rain out there right now.
A Gully Washer.
I swear I heard the front lawn come to life and start growing out of control in just the couple of minutes I was out there.
Dammit.
I was really enjoying not having to mow that sonofabitch too.
I used their declaration of drought as an excuse not to water the damn thing all Summer and let it die.
Except the Crab Grass of course.
That shit must be genetically related to cacti or something.
I’d have to say Monsoon Season has officially begun around here.
The days are very noticeably shorter already and I saw an article saying Ye Olde El Nino is back, bringing rain by the bucket load and cooler weather to boot.
It’s supposed to hang around until, they don’t fucking know, maybe next Summer.
Yay.
Send some our way. Bout twisted my ankle in the cracks its so dry.
You need to put some loose burlap on the kick of the door. Let that cat get tangled up in it, then leave if for a day. I imagine after getting closed in the door a few times, it MIGHT learn not to do that…
Here in Central Texas we are in the second driest September on record. We might get some rain this week. Grass is crunchy when you walk on it. I don’t water it. Survival of the fittest. There is no nanny HOA or city petty officials to tell me what to do, out here in the country.
They make pet safe screen that is much tougher than regular screen. I think Homer Depot sells it. I installed some for a customer once that had a medium sized dog that was doing the same thing. It worked. Grab the spline roller too, you will need it.
