So Trump has once again betrayed the tens of millions (the majority of the whole, this time) who voted for him. He has recently stated, in a sit-down interview, that if the Democrats would consent he would support “immigration reform” that includes a path to citizenship for those who are here.
In other words: More flooding of the zone, more cheating, more degradation of America and letting those who broke the law stay.
I’m surprised at that. But Denninger isn’t telling the whole story. Via the AP:

That is not a compromise, ugly or otherwise. It is surrender. The left will enforce nothing.

Yeah, I remember that episode -that’s what happened in 1986 with the amnesty for those here and a hard border for those not.

Already saw that, have been a voracious reader of Mr. Denninger for 20 years. My expectations of Trump were exceedingly low going into this term. He may already have even shot lower than I expected him to, and looks poised to sink further into a morass of bullshit that large swathes of his base want no part of.
Still, I can’t say I’m surprised at how things are going. It is part and parcel of why I’ve long considered this country unsaveable. We’re going to have to crash and burn and start over. There’s just no orderly way to get there from here now. We are far beyond the point where any political or legal process can fix things. Which sucks, but is what it is.
Our money is garbage, our politicians are garbage, our laws are largely garbage, and those that aren’t often go unenforced, much of the population is garbage – even far too many legit “citizens”, to say nothing of the invaders and subversives.

Denninger? Unless I’ve missed something, I’ve not known or perceived him to explicitly – or implicitly – be a democrat in the time I’ve read him. He did have a brief flirtation with the Libertarian party years back when he lived in Florida, until he realized they were a bad joke. If anything, most of his espoused policies are well to the right of any Republican in the last 20 years.
He does have an abrasive style of making a point, and has been heavy on the ban hammer in the past (not without good cause, IMHO) but I really can’t find fault with any of that in an environment where pernicious lies are told straight faced with ease, and politicians keep giving us the open fuck off, right to our faces. He rips the scrotes out of both parties on a routine basis.

What did you expect when you put a career criminal in the WH? He claimed to be liberal when that helped him gain money and power and now he claims to be conservative. Trump believes in nothing but making Trump richer.
He’s immigration flip flop is to help the ag, meat packing and construction industries who need cheap labor. Crypto is how they pay him. A few years ago he was opposed to crypto calling it a scam.
