Polio isn’t a problem in the west because the polio vaccine (a real vaccine) wiped it out. Once polio was eliminated in the west, the vaccine wasn’t necessary anymore — assuming you didn’t open the flood gates to the unwashed masses that brought the disease back.
I’d sure love to see their research notes and datasets.
