Pop can tab? They made a hook out of one.
We have a winner already!
Has anyone ever caught anything with one of those?
He beat me to it….We used to make vests and curtains out of them, too!
My uncle & I used to make chains of those pull tabs in the attic room we shared at my grandmother’s house. Had an ‘X’ from corner to corner, then started going around the perimeter of the ceiling; this was in the late ’70s.
The pop-top hook was an idea that never really worked (At least for me and friends around here). Metal too soft to hold the fish one caught.
I keep packets of fishhooks as they are currently very cheap. That an current fishing line as they weaken even on the roll over time. Again currently cheap.
Historically fishing hooks and cheap knives were very popular trade items with the Indians back in the day. I wonder if they will again become popular when the grocery store gets low or too expensive.
I remember those. One time, way back, I stepped on a pop top, blew out my flip flop.
Did you cut your heel and have to cruise on back home?
‘S’okay. There’s booze in the blender.
And soon it will render…..
that frozen concoction
That helps me hang on.
Can’t make a chain with this one. You can with the old pull tabs. I watched the series Alone and I think someone made a hook like this, can’t remember for sure.
