We keep telling people, the Federal Reserve banks – not just ours, but whatever they’re called in every other country, too – is what’s killing us. Today’s dollar buys like 3 cents worth of what it bought in 1913 when the Fed was created. Every year it’s worth less until it’s eventually almost completely worthless. You’ve seen the headlines about gold and silver going up, think of them as a rock sticking out of the ocean. It ain’t going up, the boat is sinking.
The Fed is trying for a constant, 2% inflation per year, because with prices going up, it gives you an incentive to buy something now, rather than save for the future. They think more spending is better than everyone saving. The problem is that means the dollar would lose half its value in 36 years. Only the Fed isn’t that accurate and they can’t hold 2%, it’s practically always more.
Inflation is always more than 2%. 3 generations to destroy wealth? Not anymore. At today’s inflation, you’ve got maybe 1 generation, if you’re lucky!
I was born poor white in the late 50s, last by 6 years. My folks never got anything from the government. When each of us graduated HS we were shown the door to find life, but we had been working all our life to help the family.
I found a job with the phone company to pay for life and college. I ended up working for 4 years in the Black Slums of South Central LA. All people were on welfare and food stamps but lived with more than I had grown up with. The area was highly dangerous and everyone on my crew was attacked. The Blacks were very racist.

The Govt supports corporations who don’t pay a living wage. The CPI statistics are false. I track my own grocery prices and in the last 3 years prices have changed by 10%, or about 3% per year. However, meat is much higher while grain products are lower. It amounts to healthier foods are much more expensive.
So the Govt has allowed illegal immigrants to flood our country, push wages down, and then used middle class tax dollars to pay SNAP. And please don’t forget all the bureaucrats it takes to make the system work, paid for by your tax dollars as well.
The billionaire stuff she was saying was nonsense. Bezos doesn’t have it in the bank to spend. On the otherhand, productivity has gone up by 2% per year for 50 years yet we work more hours per week now than 50 years ago. WTF? We spend 19% of GDP to have 70% of our kids ineligable to enlist in the military due to health reasons. The money is definitely going to the wrong place and those billionaires are profiting from it, but so are politicians and anyone in the club. You aren’t in the club.
