This Old Feller, Mr. Bryan Home, does excellent work restoring old David Bradley Walk Behind Tractors and the implements that attach to them.
I have one of these old sickle bars hanging off the front of mine that needs to be gone through. Right now I am basically using it as a kick stand to keep the thing from tilting over.
This is Museum Quality work.
I lust after a sickle bar mower. One day, if I’m lucky, I find one…
Mule drawn one may be needed soon.
Going to his YouTube page led me down a long interesting rabbit hole.
Yessssssss.
Take a BIG BAG of carrots my friend.
Looks better than when it left the factory. Amazing restoration.
Could actually use something like it on my weed farm, otherwise known as the back yard but I had this wild thought of mounting a Ryobi hedge trimmer on a wheeled dolly in such a way to do similar work. Next spring will try it as we are almost into winter around these parts but temps have been holding in the 50’s daytime so the grass and weeds keep growing.
Sounds like you could actually use one of these.
They are wicked good at knocking down everything up to a small sapling,

Had one at the Church Camp I was at last year, they are a whacking son-of-a-gun and will go through just about anything. Too steep of a hill, though, and the gas cuts off – it’s gravity fed. Go sideways.
Dad had an old GardenAid two wheel tractor with a sickle bar mower like that on the front of it. I’ve got the modern version of it, a BCS 732 with a sickle mower and a bunch of other attachments for it. I got mine with a diesel engine before the EPA made them stop using them.

I have very seriously been considering putting a Cheap Chineseium diesel engine on this David Bradley I have.
You can get them on FleaBay for under $250.
