yeah. people think I a bit weird when I say shit like this. but really is very peaceful
WITHOUT all of the bullshit you get from other people.
there is a lot to be said about watching the wood burn in the woodstove.
very relaxing , more than anything else that I know of.
Dave, wish I had a wood stove to watch
yeah. sitting and watching the fire with the damn dog beside me. he always wants to play and there are times I not really up for it. so he has to settle for head rubs instead.
past weekend was nice, warm inside the house, watching the fire and looking out the window at times to see the snow fall
but we got over 20 inches of the stuff ! that a bit much to shovel out of. anyway. it is worth the work of getting, cutting and splitting the wood. although at times I wish I had put the wood shed closer to the house (30 feet away)
still, it only takes 4 trips to bring in enough for 2-3 days depending on the weather.
I put 2 wood stoves in after moving up here. my neighbors thought I was nuts. should have go with a pellet stove.
then 3 years ago the power was out for 5 days. they didn’t think I was nuts after that. best 5-6 grand I spent in years.
Living alone is without a doubt the best life. IMHO. No drama, no one telling you you should be doing this instead of that. You can read to your heart’s content or do whatever the hell strikes you as worthy of your time.
I’ve been alone for nearly a decade, absolutely love the quiet and complete freedom to do as I want, whenever I want.
And I’ve noticed how some still like to control me for not living by their standards or time frames, not getting up at 5am is somehow morally wrong to them.
Fuk’m, I’m loving my retired life.
I spend almost all my time at home alone. My wife and I can’t wait for her to retire so we can spend almost all our time at home alone together.
i can tolerate most people until they start doing things like talking and breathing.
