Mclintok, IMHO was one of his best. That fight scene where everyone, including Maureen O’Hara, go sliding into the mud pit, is one of the funniest ever to come out of Hollyweird.
I thought he was dead!
I’d like to have that bike!
1970s Honda SL. They made 175, 250, and 350cc versions. They had a four stroke, two cylinder engine.
The CBs were the street bikes, the CLs were street/trail, and the SLs were “enduro” off-road. The CB and CL bikes had electric start, but there was just a blockoff plate over the starter mount on the SL.
I had managed to stall my two-stroke Kawasaki on enough hilly sections that I lusted for one of the Honda “sissy starters.” It’s not really practical to kick-start a stalled bike when you’re trying not to slide backwards down a hill.
Notice the weldments, mounts for cameras my guess. The bike was used in filming.
Oh and the movie was The Train Robbers with Ann Margaret…
I don’t know the movie but they were walking and he said
I think I’ve got a pebble in mah boot..
Something to that effect
They stop, he pulls a boot off and the only part of the boot in camera when he turns it over to dump it out is the top of the boot. Sand, sand and more sand runs out. I thought it was funny..
The one where he needed a crew, desperately, and rounded up a bunch of little boys,to help him get a herd to market.. That was one Helluva movie.
What an American.
The crew of boys is from the movie ‘The Cowboys.” I have a first edition book signed by the author from whom the movie with John Wayne was adapted from. A rare instance where the movie followed very closely to the book, and not some weird LSD fueled DEI populated scam of a movie.
Just saw that one on one of the streamers, Tubi I think. Tubi has at least three “Duke” vids in the current line up.
The littlest cowboy in that movie, Hardy Fimps, left acting after five years and became a multiple World Champion, Hall of Fame team roper. Clay O’Brien Cooper, stage name Clay O’Brien.
You’ll have to shoot your way out with that one, funny man.
It went over my head until I finally was able to link two and three together and make four… Is this what I have to put up with for the rest of my life, not seeing the obvious and irony?
Well you are brain damaged now so don’t beat yourself up too badly.
Do I have to wear on of those special helmets now?
I owned a ’74 Honda SL 250 when I was a kid. It was a great little bike, until I clipped a deer at 50mph coming home from swing shift at the sawmill one night. The deer came out of it better than the Honda did.
I’d sure like to have that thing today. It was a lot of fun.
Big Jake.

Roping was all he ever wanted to do.
He was good to
Sure that bike wasn’t a Hondo??
I’ll show myself out.

He’s about to take ten years off his life.
