When I was a kid, we called those fans.
Do I have to mount a big EV battery under my truck to power it? That looks like it has a high DC current draw to spool it up…
Nothing an aftermarket 120 amp alternator, a Group 31 Deep Cycle battery, a huge Constant Duty relay and some 10 Gauge wire won’t cure.
Well, the diagram appears to show 4 gauge from the battery and at least 6 or 8 gauge from what looks like a controller/relay to the turbo. That is an awful lot of draw if you have lights on and the A/C running and a thumping stereo system, a 120 amp alternator would be struggling. Don’t get me started on the deep cycle battery with a constant charge from an alternator, you’ll wear it out and cause sulfating.
The Garrett model uses 48V (or 400V) and 20KW and starts at $2500 to ~$5000…
I’ll take 2
Okay, that’s cool.
That would work great on my 64 jeep, 4-134 F-head, probably boost it up to 50 or 60 hp.

The power to run it ultimately comes from the engine……….
