1. Be nice if we could get BC also. All those ports would be a nice addition to what we already have on the Left coast, especially the oil export facilities. Then we could REALLY put the screws to China if we wanted to and tell the unions that control the U.S. Left Coast ports to eff off.

   Russia would have to build another pipeline to China.

   As to the rest, let them wallow in their warm embrace of communism, especially the ones that think speaking English is beneath them. You want to speak French, MOVE TO FRANCE, Eh.

   • Unions were brought to the US by the Bolsheviks in the late 1800’s after Bismarck threw them out of Germany.
     Americans need to understand the root cause of our love for Bolshevism in this country, all the police and teachers unions have done nothing good for us, but instead have allowed gov’t to creep into our homes under the brainwashed promise of looking out for us and the children. Our schools education scores are some of the worst in the world and the police only serve their masters while tightening the noose on our white European culture.
     All exactly as planned over 150 yrs ago.

2. It’s a great idea, but…. Canadian provinces, even the conservative ones, are run under a socialist parliamentary system. Call it what you like but I once worked with Canadian military and I was quickly corrected when I called Canada a democracy. The Canadian officer said, no – Canada is socialist. I take his work on it.

   Their medical system is entirely foreign to what we have. Better, worse or different they’re going to have to adjust.

   And keep it at 50 by trading them Minnesota in the deal.

   • We need to go in and kick Minnesota’s ass, then look at Kali, Spew York, and several other leftist states and ask “you got any further questions, fuckos?”

     • Good idea. Destroy the states with higher wages, longer life spans, better education and generally lower divorce and crime rates.
       Reduce everyone to the lowest common denominator, just like communism.

3. My advice to Alberta is don’t become a state. Because when you get tired of DC’s shenanigans, you don’t get to leave. Just ask any of the states in the Confederacy. Become your own sovereign nation and make trade agreements with Canada and the US.

   • Frankly, that would be best for all. They have all the revenue they need, and can tell Ottawa and DC to go pound sand if it ever becomes necessary. Let ’em keep the Canadian flavor, please.

4. As an Albertan here is my take.

   1) AB pays the majority of federal transfer payments, we get very little in return
   2) we have a referendum likely on an upcoming ballet about leaving Canada, its unlikely to go for the idea of leaving. The feds have been dumping refugees in AB for the last decade. That will prevent us leaving
   3) Jeff Rath is a lawyer, that makes him untrustworthy. He’s the self appointed legal council of AB seperation, he is a lefty and i suspect his talk of US statehood is designed to undermine the movement.
   4) AB would be better off a seperate country than a state.
   5) rcmp already spying on anyone volunteering for seperation referendum. They will arrest anyone who supports it at some point, They are already planning on it.
   6) Even if AB votes to leave the feds get final say on if they allow us to leave and under what terms. They know loosing AB financially bankrupts the country, they wont allow the departure.

   To the comment above about the officer saying we are socialist, Was he a quebecer? Most officers are and what they believe is not close to reality most of the time.

   • Just as with US States, joining up was voluntary, based on the stated terms in effect at the time the contract was signed. The (not so) funny thing is that the terms were later changed, and now anyone wanting to break the contract will have to use overwhelming violence to get back out. Same as it ever was.

     There isn’t a country on earth whose government will allow the people of an subsection of it’s territory the right to self determination. They always use military violence to bury such thoughts when they pop up in the minds of the proles. See: Ukraine and the ethnically Russian oblasts that have now been reclaimed by Russia, and at much detriment to Ukraine (which stupidly tried to hang onto them, and got their asses kicked).

     • Those “ethnically Russian” oblasts were majority Ukrainian with the exception of Crimea and that was only because of the Russian bases.

       • Well, irrespective of anything else, might makes right, and Russia brought it. Ukraine didn’t, despite having the entire “rules based world order” ostensibly backing them up (which was a crock of shit, and self evidently so right from the start). Therefore, it really doesn’t matter now, because Russia has more or less attained it’s objectives, and nobody is doing sweet fuckall to stop them, much less roll back their gains.

         I wonder if there will ever be a formal recognition of and acknowledgement by the western powers who have a perpetual hard on for destroying Russia, that they lost bigly (Ukraine most severely, having now been demographically stripped of most of two generations of men from their population). That is not a recoverable loss, in my estimation. The ability of the western ruling class to cost out Ignore and deny objective reality has been most impressive. I keep hoping

6. Why would Albertans trade one corrupt distant capitol city in the east for another? My cousin in Calgary is pro-independence and tells me that most of his friends want Alberta to be sovereign.

   • I couldn’t agree more. Why would AB want to joint the sinking ship that is the US? Sure the US would benefit in terms of territorial gains, and access to resources, but Alberta gains nothing of real value, except maybe a slightly longer time until collapse. Canada’s government will probably go tits up before ours does, but that isn’t saying much, as both are sclerotic and diseased in pretty much the same ways.

8. LOL! Trump recognizing Alberta as the 51st state in no way makes that a fact. And Trump knows that. He’s just trolling the hysterical left. It’s an interesting idea but it’s never going to happen.

9. It amazes me how the author went from “Trump will recognize Alberta as a sovereign nation” to “Trump wants to be an Emperor.” Liberal illogic in its purest form. Alberta doesn’t want to be a state, and we don’t necessarily want them as a state because then the dems will make DC and Puerto Rico states. Same with Greenland. Let them self-determine and support them as we can to fight the WEF-infected nations everywhere.
