Inflation May Cause Anal Leakage

I may be needing a cork here shortly too.

I went out and jumped in Ye Olde Chevrolet this morning to head out for work and flipped the headlights on while I was still in the driveway.

BLIP!

Immediately the drivers side low beam went out.

OK, note to self, swing by the parts house on the way home and pick one up.

Because my memory is still as good as it used to be, horrible, I sent myself an Email as a reminder.

As unlikely as it sounds, I actually remembered it BEFORE I got home tonight and swung in to Tony’s.

I jumped out, popped into the joint and immediately grabbed the wrong one. Thankfully the guy was on top of it and went back and got the correct one.

$15.95.

I think to myself, not as bad as I expected!

As he starts to ring it up he asks me if maybe I might want to get another one because the price is going up.

Since I have no idea how old the headlights are in the truck I said sure.

He goes and grabs another one, in a different box.

He points to the price on that one.

$26.95.

Damn, I say.

He says, no, that was the FIRST price increase.

Then he says he will sell it to me at the same price as the first one.

Very Cool, Thanks!

This is why I always go to Tony’s Auto Parts.

Good people.

THEN, he tells me the new price that is coming, for the very same headlight .

$48.95!!!

WHAT?!!!!

ALMOST FIFTY FREAKING DOLLARS!!

THREE TIMES THE ORIGINAL PRICE FROM LAST YEAR!

Even though inflation has been with us for a while now, you do realize that we are just getting started, right?

The Fed has printed TRILLIONS of dollars in just the last couple of years and CONgress is throwing it away like rice at a wedding as we speak.

Can you say Zimbabwe?

Sure you can.

Please put your seats and trays in the upright position then fasten your seatbelts..

It’s going to be a rough landing.

Welcome To The Collapse ladies and gentlemen.

Enjoy Your Stay.

  1. yup. figured that out a very long time ago. it why I always say stuff is better than money. if it the right kind of stuff. if you have the funds, get as much regulator stuff
you go thru now instead of later and you will save money.
motor oil, filter, both gas and oil be good to have. tires are getting really pricey too
if you don’t have a stock pile of stuff by now, you better start before it gets really bad. the way they are printing and spending it, the dollar is going to be a foot note in history soon.

  2. I just noticed I am out of oil in my stockpile. MobilOne at o’reillys is about $11 quart and their brand is $8 quart. I knew I should have gone to the 99 cent store and stocked up when they were $3.99 quart. Now I gotta pay. And I gotta put tires on my dakota next week, I bet those will be pricey. Ah well, I can’t take it with me.

  3. Yikes. And I thought it was bad that I’m paying $23.99 for a bag of sweet cob at TSC today that was $15.09 in April of last year.
    Thanks for nothing, Brandon.

  4. Have you looked at PartsGeek.com?

I typed in “h4703 12v 55w” from label on the box in the picture and selected Chevrolet for the make.

    Or a G30 type bulb:

  5. This one is going to be a lot worse than normal monetary pumping. Typically, the Fed buys from the big boys, who spend it on things like stocks and other assets, and that creates asset price inflation, i.e., increasing stock prices.

This time they flooded the bottom with cash. Student loan deferment, now transference, eviction moratoria, extra unemployment that paid better than working, etc. So these people spent the rent money on consumer goods and immediate consumption, i.e., that’s where the price inflation is going to set in.

Then factor in the deliberately mangled supply chain to reduce quantity supplied…

  6. Had the need to travel to the nearest blue hive for a few things not available locally. After picking up the parts stopped at a couple of stores on the way out of the city, most notably to pick up 20 gallons of white vinegar and 400lbs of sugar. Vinegar to lower the pH of my blueberry water and the sugar because we’re going into a dearth and soon it will be time to feed the bees.

Anyway I was shocked at two things, one the amount of bare shelf space and minimal stocking of what was there and two the crazy price of goods. Stopped at a Walmart to see if the issues persisted across the big chain stores. Holy cow it almost looked like they had been raided. Several of the aisles had empty shelves running their entire length. From what I remember from the last trip several months ago prices are up across the board.

Yep it’s looking grim on both the supply side and inflation side of things. It’s going to be ugly when the gimmedats, especially in the blue hives, can’t get what they want.

Sure glad I can get by on little more than nothing and most of the nothing I can grow, raise, build or procure myself.

  7. Went to walmart to stare at peopl… to pick something up for my mom in law, usually swing by the bakery and grab a couple loafs of french bread. Have been a dollar a loaf for a few years now.

    $1.50

    Quite the jump.

Local pasture-to-counter meat market has had ground beef for $2.99 a pound for well over a year. Full size billboards and garage sale size signs everywhere.

Now $3.99 a pound just in the last month or so.

We have started dipping into the preps.

Also just ate the first watermelon we’ve grown.
