If you can’t say “Thank-you” to whomever opens or holds a door open for you, you are an asshole. Male or female. Be polite, be civil, as Viktor Frankl observed the one thing they can’t take away from you is your ability to be kind, civil to your fellow human.
Opened a door for a woman a few years ago and she stood back saying “I can open my own door”.
So I slammed it in her face and made her open her own damn door.
Yep. And she deserved it. Glared at me, but what is she gonna do about it? She asked for it, fer Pete’s sake!
I open doors for people all the time. Even the automatic doors. I just say, I’ll get the door for you. So far, everyone I have done it to says thank you. Some even praise my kindness. I do it to do a good deed every day. Plus, I pick up one piece of trash and throw it into a trash can every day. I am saving the earth in my own way.
