Nope, I had a German Shepard/Siberian Husky mix that play and roll in the snow then curl up to take a nap in a snowbank.
I have a German Shepard/ Husky and she is never happier than when the temp drops. She’ll lay outside in the snow, get completely covered, stand up, shake and she’s clean as a whistle. Amazing insulation and a sweet disposition.
Same. I had a freak male 100lb husky back in the 80s that absolutely hated being indoors. One cold winter morning there was a hard knock at the door, it was the county fuzz. One of my neighbors called to report that I had left my poor abused dog outside all night long and needed to be arrested for animal cruelty. The cop was ready to do it too so brought him around back and that dog was just laying in the snow sleeping. I called to him, and he jumped up just as happy as can be, tail wagging and jumping around ready to play. I demonstrated my doggie door and showed him that the dog could come in anytime he wanted. The cop just shook his head saying that the caller forgot to mention that we had a “friggin’ sled dog”.
Had a husky many moons ago. She loved the snow, and would run around in it until the point of exhaustion. I never saw her do the “hedgehog” thing, though I guess it’s possible she may have when I wasn’t looking
They’re built for it. They love it. No worries.
The best photo I have of my first Berner Kodi shows just his nose sticking out of the snow.
