They still sell them at Walmart, just checked.
Easy and fun for kids.
Really? I didn’t think they sold them anymore, not that I look for them now, damn bridges and such and popcorn pieces in all.
Yep. Quite the Saturday night blessing for a family. @ or 3 is the better. I had to be the one standing there shaking them.
Yup, not were, still available. That was a dorm room staple with the illegal hot plate.
And it tastes better than microwave popcorn.
Mexican fire alarm.
Yup, still around. And great fun on a camping trip.
Used to burn popcorn regularly as a kid with these until we figured out how to add a little extra oil to them, then they were just fine!
And they still make ’em, rather popular at campgrounds!
while working for my uncle in se asia, we would use a chunk of c4 to make jiffy pop.
had to keep shaking the popper or the c4 wld burn a hole in the bottom ……
My grocery store still sells them.
I just saw the history of Jiffy Pop on the History Channel last night, lol.
45 years ago when I was a child, the food stand at our community swimming pool had a machine that cooked these. It was a stove burner with a swingarm on the top. You hooked the handle of the Jiffy Pop into the swing arm and the swingarm would shake the pan back and forth on top of the burner until it was done. Never saw another one like that. Fond memories.
Not enough quantity and I still like making my own. I have used every type of popper made. My stove top I use now is the best.
