Hand Tool Rescue rebuilt a saw like that. Really neat. But… well… Chainsaw is a much better alternative.
I think there’d be a great deal more labor involved in making a chain for a chainsaw than in making that entire thing.
I doubt he knows what an encyclopedia is, but he’s probably heard of Ottawa.

It was a labor saving device in its day. You could sit there and drink beer with it.
