If in SoCal and Vegas you better try it now before Meade and Powell dry up.
I make ice cream in the yard with the kids – same mix, in a quart freezer bag, inside a gallon freezer bag containing ice & salt. they toss it back & forth for five/ten minutes and ‘voila – ice cream.
I did not know it was that simple. Next trip to the grocery store and I’m picking up some heavy cream and maybe some strawberries. Mmmmm. Thank you for posting that.
Use more strawberries than you think you need.
Could you use pureed fruit in it?
I was thinking about that after I posted. I bet you could use just about anything even jam/preserves. You’d probably want to heat it slightly so it is somewhat pourable. When the ice cream is about 1/2 or 3/4 frozen you’d pour it in, lightly stir, and let it finish freezing. For chocolate ice cream just add cocoa powder at the beginning.
I was thinking about a quarter cup of toll house morsels right out of the freezer.
There ya go! the recipe looks like you add anything to your hearts (tummy) delights…
