      • Waukeshaw or Perkins powered?

They still look to use those around here. Some guys will convert the back half of it to haul firewood.

Bigger versions are used for diamond core drilling up North.
BTW: north is anything north of 55 and south of 60; North is anything north of 60.

        • Have no idea, saw a lot of similar old snow cats when I lived in South Dakota and ranging around North Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Montana.

  1. ho boy ! it just boggles the mind what one can or might be able to do with this toy
some angled steel plate, some bullet proof glass/plastic and some gun ports
maybe a ring mount on top ? something along the lines of a “zippo tank”
and you might have a great item for the coming events !
now, would compressed air or a high power pump work better ?
and then how about storage tanks ?
and maybe a couple of semi auto shotguns with 3.5 inch chambers loaded with
3.5 inch number 4 buckshot for close in defense ?
I wonder if you could make a Galting gun to shoot those ?
that would be handy to have. ammo is a bit pricey though.
you would have to up armor the engine area though.
I wonder how those old German half tracks did it ? it always looked like there
was a solid sheet of steel in front of them.
next question, where is it and how much do they want ?

  2. Why would anyone want to bother converting a light-skinned Arctic personnel/tourist transporter? Just go buy yourself a dozer tank, various military forces surplus them when they want to upgrade their own war stores.
They are demilled, no weapons, but that’s irrelevant to a militaria collector. And fellas, they’re already armoured, you don’t have to bust your guts fitting useless soft steel around it. The crew area, engine and transmission already have a fair degree of protection. Just don’t ruin a true collector’s item, please.

  3. So? How much does he want.

And seeing you collect old cars – a small tool on the way to ya. 😉

  4. My friends and me have been talking about getting something like this. It would be the BBQ and beer hauler when we go out on snowmobile expeditions. Let the ol’ ladies drive it and meet us there.
