I See A Yard Sale In My Future

Holy Moly.

Not only is that garage crammed full of my crap, I am STILL going through boxes and boxes and boxes of Ol’ Chuck’s crap too now.

The back of the old Chevy is full of it along with the front seat and I just now finally got through going through ONE BOX of crap I have had riding around in the front of the Dodge.

There is still a little bit in the bed too that I haven’t quite got to.

This is after three trips to the dump already.

I thought it was bad in that garage before but now it is just not working for me.

I literally can’t get around in there at all hardly.

Come some decent weather, a couple rolls of the little round stickers and a couple of Sharpies are going to appear in my hands and it’s gonna be game on.

More than likely it will have to go the same way it got here, a little at a time.

There is just too much to try and get rid of all at once.

But it’s to the point it has to happen.

  1. If you have any friends of the geeky persuasion, they might be able to help you E-Bay stuff?

  2. Hell, put some of it on here, there’s bound to be some tool whores that will find it useful and even kick in for shipping. Of course not me, I don’t even like tools (twitch, twitch) not interested (twitch, twitch) but I’ll mention it to my friends.

  3. Do you have any timber framing tools? I’m in desperate need of some long timber framing chisels. The ones they sell on the internet are at nosebleed prices!
Like Jeff said, list it on here. I know I’m ALWAYS looking at the next tool or gun purchase.
And remember you can’t fix stupid, but you watch it with popcorn and a soda!

  4. Guy stuff yard sale?!? Yer a couple thousand miles away…but I’ve got a Toyota 1 ton that gets 30 mpg if keep my speed down.

  5. that is the only good thing about moving. you get rid of stuff.
when I made the move here to the hills, I gave away a lot of stuff-tools and
materials . gave my one good neighbor my hand made woodworking bench I made back in 1986 or so. rock maple and cherry wood. oak legs and feet.
besides I wasn’t using bench planes that much after my back went to shit.
I was working my way thru a bucket of drill bits that needed sharping and sorting
to another friend. back when I was helping that machine shop get tools ready to sell. they gave me tons of tooling and other things. I have a die table in the back yard. 2200 pound rated one. I used it to unload big stuff from the back of the 4 runner. it is also handy to work on things instead of bending over all the time.
but like you there are a lot of things I can let go as I don’t see a need for them anymore. that is one project I need to do this spring/summer for sure.
just be sure to put it on Craigslist and make SURE YOU HAVE ANOTHER SET OF EYE TO WATCH PEOPLE. learned that the hard way once at a car show.
someone walked off with some rare MGA twin cam parts while I was with another clown trying to buy on the cheap.

  6. Maybe we should all rotate to someone elses shop and clean it for them. Let someone else decide what YOU should keep. Hahahahahahahaha.
