  1. I recall ice fishing on Higgins Lake, in northern Michigan, several decades ago and seeing a guy in a pickup hot-rodding around, doing donuts and just having fun.

Then he found the thin ice and only the bed of his truck was visible. Standing up like a sore thumb. The ice where we were was a foot thick, which is plenty. Shortly thereafter several pickups came out to him, and hooked a cable to him and then using chain saws cut lines in the ice parallel on either side of his truck. As the ice came loose, the truck started to sink the ice, and they wenched his truck back, and then up, onto the good ice.

It was an incredible thing to see.
Thanks to that wahoo, I learned not to FA, because I had already FO.

  2. well, I have heard of a few clowns losing their ATVs
in the nearby lake. but really. how dam stupid/drunk do you have to be to drive on
ice covering a pond or lake ?
after something like this, they should no longer be allowed to vote.
they have shown the world they do not have good judgement.
well, maybe if they where drunk, we give them another chance. maybe

  3. Never have like the snow. Born in California in the late 50s and hounded my Dad (he was from AZ) to take me up to the San Gabriel Mtns to see snow. We live in SoCal. He drove me up with my dog when I was about 10 to the snow, open the door of the car, and me and the dog went out. I had my normal tennis shoes and light jacket and came back after I was frozen. He asked me how I was and I said it hurt and he said “I don’t want to hear it again”.

Been over the Sierra Nevada in Winter with chains multiple times going to Tahoe. Not pleasant. Been over the Rockies in winter and in Wyoming in winter, again not good. Been in Colorado in winter not pleasant but business called for it.

Business moved me to the east coast and to the south. We have had snow in Atlanta at some times and they are not able to handle it.
