How many of you grew up in a house that used sandwich bread instead of hot dog buns?
Bread was our hot dog and hamburger buns!
Crunchy & soft on a sandwich just ain’t right.
I still put chips on my PB&Js.
Sweet and salty munchies.
And just to piss off a few more…I like pineapple and jalapeno pizzas too.
A couple weeks ago I bought a pack of hot dogs at the local grocery store. The one pack a year I allow myself in the summer. After picking up the dogs went to the bread aisle for the buns. Hot dogs, eight to the pkg, buns SIX. I went to the courtesy booth and showed the person there the difference and was told “We have a new bread vendor and this is how they supply the buns.” Like eff you, stronger message to follow. So, I wrote a letter to the company in complaint and to the State Attorney General’s Consumer Affairs Dept.
When Jimmy Dean’s was too damn expensive, we’d fry our bologna up like that in the skillet, then serve with scrambled eggs for breakfast. Might have to start eating like that again.
And that’s fried baloney, even better. Hot dog buns? What are those?
To fry baloney you need to cut a slit in the edge every 2 inches to keep it flat.
I use Hawkins Cheezies on mine!
