Well me Lassies and Laddies, I made it, only a 650 mile trip, but travelling through some of the more desolate areas of SE Washington and NE Oregon at night on a curving, two lane farm road. Dangers about… only saw the ass end of a doe heading into the brush on the other side of the road.
Phil, Phil is a most singular generous man, He is unique in his approach to you and his base of knowledge that he has not tapped and conveyed to the blog, he is an asshole, par-excellence, wouldn’t want to meet him in a dark alley and take away his humongous, beyond delicious burrito from a little out of the way Mexican fast food dive with real live Mexican people that make the food. That he graciously and generously fed this tired, butt sore, wary traveler…
I was impressed walking into his house. In all honesty, I was kinda expecting a continuation of his world famous garage. It was fastidiously clean, well thought out and pleasant house. Phil is only a garage and yard shed hoarder, oh, but what tools he has, we could play for hours, getting dirty and make chips!
I was lucky to meet up with Phil on the blog and develop a friendship. This meeting cemented that. I was lucky to meet up with other fellows, Deathray, Igor, ChuckinBama, Irish, Greg, Grog, Sandy, even Johno, Vern, Big Country, Wendyworn, Leigh, Nemo, Filthie, Kid, Mattew W, oh man, too many to list!
This is another chapter and It is time to settle, thank you all for your encouragement and prayers.
Kevin……ps, I will be shortly changing my handle to CederQ, a subtle whisper in my ear about it and confusing our host.
Good to hear you made your destination.
Glad you got there safely.
You did good with that post. It is funny I suppose how through this blog site the friendships that have developed. I often think about that and after being seriously injured getting all the well wishes from the regulars here. Man, having P2 show up out of nowhere!!! What a bond that developed into. I look forward to just seeing how the readers here respond to the post. I feel like I know that if I ever met up with you guys we’d hit it off no problem.
You both run a interesting and informative blog and it has brought a good group of people together here. Thanks to both of you and thanks to all the rest of you out there for being you and allowing me to be a little part of your lives.
What Sandy and Deathray said.
Yup. He did good with that post, Deathray. Phil is all that and more, no doubt. What an incredible tribute and worthy post about Phil that was. Should we all be so lucky to meet him in person. And yes, Phil’s blog brings all us reprobates together.
Would make my life to meet all you degenerates, but fear the fed bois would infiltrate a group gathering.
Ditto the others. Glad you made it without Bambi in the radiator. Those narrow roads are the worst. I spent a long night in Big Lake, TX after a deer greased the water pump in the GMC.
If’n we did meet up, it’d be a disturbance in the force I’d reckon. But I agree with Deathray, I’ve met some quality people as a result of reading the blogs he mentions. Had no idea my tribe was so spread out.
Find a good spot to hole up CQ!
STxAR, we are not so fractured as the elites think we are. A wonderful things, blogs… the signal will go through! Can’t stop the frequency. This is our tin can and string. Why I have my grilled guard and what Johno says my “Gay Bar” in front, a push bar, I can do without a fender, a radiator I can’t. Tribe feels good don’t it? Men and women think alike, can live together, can build great things together and still disagree.
Yes, what everybody said. It’s always a good thing to be reminded there are great people out there and not just the tards.
It’s a good feeling when longtime long-distance friends finally get together. Savor the experience!
Glad ya got there safely, hoss. This place is fun…
Glad to hear that you finished the journey safe & sound. Hope ya enjoy the new locale.
Hope you recover quickly from the butt callouses.
It is good to commune with like minds, strange and perverted though they may be.
Us “old pharts” need to support and encourage each other, and blogs like this one are a wonderful part of that. Thank you to CederQ and Phil for the opportunity to interact and be entertained here.
Cederq, that pic of you and Phil, did something go wrong with the camera? Just, there seems to be an awful lot of grey in the image, as if all the colour drained the hell out!
Good story of the day on turning a New Leaf. Younger Bro’s (who grew into a very cool dude, surprising the shit out of everyone) GF of long repute and a Card Carrying Commie who used to share her time off days with other workers and always the lament the tribulations of the poor. Insufferable she was. Younger Bro went Red pill about 6 years ago when he was getting credentialed to be a prosthetics designer and work at the VA. He began to see through the blue veil and garner the red mist on how Libs really operated.
SO he sets out to convert GF, was getting nowhere until the BLM riot in MPLS got with in 3 blocks of his house he spent 15 years rebuilding after a fire (he’s a master carpenter also). He spent the night guarding his house by standing at the end of the street with a 20ga ready to repel boarders. GF begins to realize that the lazy good for nothing AA didn’t do squat to clean up after the riot but the suburb denizen Minnesota Nice liberals came out to do the work. LIGHT BULB moment for her on the ways of the world. She goes out and buys a 44mag for you know personal protection.
Final straw is when her job (end of life care nurse for dying kids) is eliminated because she almost bled out at work from women plumbing issues. She used all her sick time and vacation and had to take a LOA. They fired her anyway. A hospice that dealt with dying kids fires a nurse who stepped up to do a job that only has gut wrenching heartache as a reward. Realizing that the world is really shitty she said FU to it and bought a F150 SCREW cab to go out into the back woods and contemplate her next move.
This is just to show that its never too late to see the writing on the wall even at 50+. Keep Working on the Normies.
