  1. Heh. Wouldn’t want to have to keep that clean either. It would have smudges daily.

    • Sandy, that is in Cederq’s new rental. He’ll keep it clean, so he can look up women’s skirts as they go upstairs. Designed by somebody with no kids (can you imagine all the trips into the ED?), and no intention of having inebriated partygoers over.

  2. Asinine.

WhoeverTF thought designing “The Guillotine” as a staircase, and whoever okayed the plans, should have one of those steps pounded up their fourth point of contact with a tack hammer, an inch at a time.

Occupant slips, cuts open a jugular or femoral artery, and bleeds to death, and the architect should be prosecuted for criminal manslaughter.

  3. You just know some asshat will try and take a big old gun safe up to the second floor….with predictable results.

  4. Not for all the tea in Chi-nuh or all the bribes the Chinks gave the Brandon Crime Fambly, either.

  5. That has to be a joke or incomplete.

No railing and no way to not fall off, I call BS or just possibly an advertisement for St. Gobain in France, we all know the frogs are crazy..

  6. Look, as an Engineer (Last week I couldn’t spel En-gin-ear and now I are one!), the glass will take the strain. The sharp edges have been melted or buffed off.

Does that mean I would actually use or have one? Hell-to-the-NO! Slippery? You betcha. Revealing? You betcha. No catch if you miss a step? You betcha.

Totally impractical. LOOKS pretty/stylish/modern, but There Are Some Things You Just Shouldn’t Build. Period. Dot.

    Went out on the SkyWalk,
    https://www.thecanyon.com/grand-canyon-skywalk
but they don’t let you being cameras or anything else you can drop on that EXPENSIVE specialty glass to screw it up. No regular shoes, etc. Oh, and it’s spendy too! Worth it, though. I trust the engineering.

  7. it obviously identifies as sufficient and strong enuff… any failure is due to the installer

  8. I’m a professional engineer and would not build something like that, nor would I use it.

      • I’m an engineer too and an architect. Personal preference aside, that glass is 3/4″ tempered (very strong) and might have a textured top surface. The installation is not complete. I suspect there will be some sort of handrail installed that will also partially support the outboard end of the treads – sort of like they do spiral stairs. At least one handrail is required by the building code. If you see a stairway that does not have a handrail it was removed after the issuance of the certificate of occupancy.

        • Hot Damn, three engineers! We should get a lot of good advice and expert opinions. Myself would be hesitant to use those stairs, I don’t care how many approvals and certificates of compliance it has. It appears to be unsafe and I would listen to my inner Kevin… it has served me well.
