Yep, just a festival to the devil. Not interested….
I don’t celebrate Halloween because it is a celebration of evil.
Whining about a holiday that’s meaning has changed from the original is ridiculous. Things evolve in this world. Dressing kids up and taking them to the neighbors’ houses for candy, throwing eggs at those same neighbors by the older siblings a little later, and listening to the Misfits isn’t evil. Lighten up and have some fun, scrooges!
For arguments sake, saying something is okay because the meaning has changed (or to clarify the generally accepted meaning) allows a toehold for the little evils. It’s not much different than arguing that the modern left isn’t communistic because they call themselves ‘Progressive’ (which, coincidentally was the entire point of their name change).
As usual, our neighborhood will be very dark this evening. No porch lights, no house lights visible from the street. All the would be trick-or-treaters go to other parts of town. We enjoy our peace and quiet. I will be watching, of course, for any delinquents up to no good.
My kids are grown, so the porch lights are off. But the tub of costumes is still in the back of the closet that I made so many years ago.
The story of how we went from celebrating Samhain to All Souls is interesting, and the same thing goes for Christmas or Easter.
I always tried to scare the shit out of the evil that evening
Halloween is an evil, demonic, corrupt counterfeit of the resurrection. We do no celebrate or in any way participate in it.
Yea yea yea, I still like watching the young slutties out slutting each other.
Y’all cannot be serious.
“The three days of Allhallowtide
All Hallows’ Eve (October 31): The day before All Saints’ Day, originally known as “All Hallows’ Eve”.
All Saints’ Day (November 1): A feast day in Western Christianity honoring all saints.
All Souls’ Day (November 2): A day to commemorate all the faithful departed, particularly those who have died in God’s grace but are in need of purification.”
Me neither buddy.
