  1. I don’t generally care for cops, but I’ll give that guy credit for staying cool and keeping it together. A goodly number of those on the typical police force now would probably be freaking out like a little bitch under identical circumstances.

To be honest, never having been shot myself (I have been in dangerously close range of fire twice in my life, both instances were random street shootings where I wasn’t the intended target), I don’t know how I’d react taking a hit that didn’t immediately drop me. I’ve sustained some fairly serious injuries and stayed cool and level headed enough to do my own triage before seeking medical attention, so would like to think I’d hold up similarly, but it strikes me as one of those “you really don’t know until you’ve been there scenarios. There’s a lot of adrenaline pumping when you are being actively fired on.

    • did anyone else notice that he had a southern accent ?
a redneck does not cry mommie. go get him !
we have some good boys, you can tell that he played outside in his youth.

As in the guy who thought he got shot by an acorn.

    • Yes, that incident came to mind as I was typing my original comment. But that’s certainly not the only example.

  3. Probably a former combat veteran. And since he’s a sergeant, he is at least experienced on the streets, so he knows what needs to be done. I have been shot myself, and keeping calm in the middle of it is what saved me. Panic could have killed me. I was lucky my wound was not more severe, and also lucky in that I didn’t even feel it in the moment. (A more common thing than many realize.) Most wounds by handgun are survived, while most by rifle are not. But what really makes this guy hard core is that he commands his partner to go get the dude, rather than tend to his wound. Balls the size of cantaloupes!!

  4. True Hero material! Good to have beside you in a firefight. Which I suspect he has been in.
