It’s supposed to be a Cat 3 by the time it hits the Florida coast.
Yeah. This shit is getting old. Used to be on avg a storm would kiss the west coast of FL about once every 20 years. This is the fourth major since I’ve moved here in 2012. I’ve moved inland and to higher ground and STILL going to a damn shelter because to lose power for two weeks just doesn’t fly with the wimmins in the house. Honestly, one being 93, I can’t say I blame her.
I have two sibs that live on one of the barrier islands, another that lives on the North side of Charlotte Harbor about a mile inland from the water. The two just about got done from completing renovations after Ian. One left on evac orders yesterday. The other is leaving today. The one that lives on Charlotte harbor is staying put which I think is nuts.
When Ian hit I had three sibs that lived on that barrier island. One lost everything. They never found her mobile home or car. She has since moved wwaayy north after selling her lot.
President Trump was correct when he said we should nuke hurricanes to weaken them before they hit land. I can’t believe all those over educated climatologists didn’t think of this.
