    • It looked like they didn’t fasten the bead to the rim and it just came off when it grew. I used to use metal screws through the rim into the bead to keep the tires from spinning on my dragster and now they use a bead lock rim. Slicks are tubeless so I doubt any damage other than having to remount the tire. Still rather stupid to spin the tires like that for no good reason.

  1. Looks and sounds like it’s putting out apeshit, horse power.
If ya have enough money to support that thing, the cost of tires are incidental.

  2. Been around many AA fueler dragsters, and I can unequivocally state that that is the STUPIDEST way to test that out. Absolutely NO safety straps holding anything down, and the jackstands are just screaming, “Accident Waiting To Happen” (what with all the torque and vibration)! Add to the fact that there is no bead lock, and you are rapidly (pun intended) heading towards disaster.

Gosh, sounds absolutely MEAN, but when something breaks or goes wrong there’s gonna be a helluva mess to clean up. Bring spill absorbent for the blood, BTW…

  3. Lucky they did not create a new door with that.

    Lucky OSHA was not around.

I’m old so I would not knowingly be around that adventure.
