They all ready do have a software for the tracked robots that carry and shoot shotguns, they preload the tracks in reverse with the brakes on to jack the ass up and then compensate by elevating the barrel slightly and blast away… none to very little muzzle climb.
Had another thought, stretch a cable across a doorway, hall, between cars and pull up and disable the robot and you now have an automatic weapon.
Lowering the bore axis would help a lot with recoil control.
As long as they use the same propulsion technique it won’t be able to sneak up on you. Which may not matter once a laser rangefinder is added…..
Wait till this tech gets combined with truly functional artificial intelligence.And some idiot will eventually do exactly that.

A P90 is supposed to be low recoil, with the bonus of armor piercing ammo. Plus, it is smaller, and lighter, with a 50 round mag. Granted the 5.7 is a souped up .22, but out of a full auto I am sure it can produce results.
This is a prototype. Redesign the firearm and/or the robot to center up the center of gravity. I imagine this is not just a proof of concept but is being used to help develop the software and understand how long the thing can run. Also, human operator – how well does the interface work. How quickly does someone burn thru 30, 50, 100 rounds. When would you deploy this thing? Etc.
Production models won’t have the recoil throwing the robot off aim, or not far.
The will also be hardened against attack (Keep legs moving so joints are always a moving target, good software will see a fraction of a second pause when it can shoot, especially if it can get one shot, one kill)
Lets hope the WEF doesn’t want to buy too many.
