  1. dogs are better than most people I met over the years.
kind of funny around here, you remember the dog’s name, but not the owners
and most people are okay with that too.
still missing that damn dog slim even though he would eat all the carrots I had planted in the garden. even tried eating the green tomato’s too.
    big silly dog.

  2. Thanks for posting Cederq. I got the word from Borepatch, and his dog Wolfgang is getting quite elderly for a German Shepherd. Glen’s comment thread is huge already, will get more so.

    • not so sure about the cry once part. still hurts just looking at his picture on the wall. still miss that big silly dog.

      • Lost a great GSD right before move back to TX. Didn’t want another because of pain. Wife knew what proper medicine was and got another. Wonderful dog. It really helps with the void in the soul.

  3. Loosing a dog is the worse thing I’ve ever been through, yet I always end up with another one. I’m truly sorry to hear that. All Dogs go to Heaven.

  4. Lost my Best Girl right before Christmas,
    Still hurts a lot.
Gonna be rough for a long while.

  5. Forgot to say it over there Glen I apologize, but, there’s a reason I like dogs better’un people.

  6. Put my oldest Lab Sammie down this afternoon, cry like a little girl every time.
Buried her next to my 4 past Labs. They never truly leave you

  8. Thanks for all this, you guys. It was a darn tough day for us all yesterday, and your kind words meant a lot.

Hold your dawgs close, today. You’ll both be better off for it. 😊👍

  9. All my condolences. Never really got over the loss of any of mine. Wish they were all with me still. Just like Dave, I know all the dogs in my area by name but never can remember half the names of the owners.

  10. Glenfilhie, all my condolences on you losing your best friend.
Rather, you have temporarily parted with him. Take comfort that you WILL be reunited with him, maybe sooner, maybe later. But, reunited you will be.

I hope this takes the sting out of it. We grieve with you.

  11. Sorry to hear it. I always try to remember that we gave them a great life and they’re thankful for that. Regards.
