When I was in high school I built 2 mahogany bookcases for my mom. They were 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide . All of it was hand sanded. No belt sanders or orbital sanders….9 tenths of the work building them was sanding. I still have one, my brother has the other, 50 years later…..the wood cost around fifteen dollars each. I priced a 3/4 inch mahogany bookcase similar today and they are over $ 1500 each….
Yep. Still got the pine end tables I built in 8th grade woodshop. Don’t have any idea what they are worth, to me they are priceless. ANd still sturdy too, after almost 50 years…
