From Bustednuckles Analytical Page.

It seems we have for the first time Russians interested in what goes on with this blog. Now, we don’t know if it is just regular Tool/Gear heads or of their Security/Spy apparatus learning secret decoder ring squirrel stuff… Phil was astonished when I emailed him this information, his words, “That’s new! I never used to get hits from Mother Russia.” I was astonished too some even in Ol’ Mexico have taken a liking to us. The numbers represented are the daily hits and when I went back into presiding days the numbers were almost constant. I am sure we are on our countries finest watch lists even more…

Top 10 Countries

1. United States 74,491 2. Canada 2,864 3. Australia 1,039 4. United Kingdom 887 5. New Zealand 214 6. Russian Federation 126 7. Netherlands 125 8. Germany 104 9. Mexico 98 10. Norway 93

  1. Maybe they’re trying to figure out which way the wind is blowing down on the farm. Personally, I’d appreciate some military aid at the appropriate time, but that’s just me…

  2. They Russians may be the ones that sent me a job offer a little while ago.
Won’t that send the gay-bois at the FBI into fits ??

    • That I don’t know, unless Phil upgrades to the “Professional” grade of WordPress analytical software we can’t ascertain VPN IPs as we can with just regular commentators. All the Pro version offers as we see is more cost for the same buck and we seem to do alright with what Phil has, it works, that is all one came hope for.

  3. How about the use of VPNs that use different iP addresses fron different countries.
    Jus sayin.

    Vermillion

    • These are discreet page views, not comments, so they may use a VPN to view the blog we can’t track that unless the Pro version is used(see answer to dave drake.) We have gotten good at recognizing VPN IPs due to our disney troll patrol, which had been inactive for a few weeks have sent probes so to speak…

  4. Petrol Heads and Spanner Monkeys of the world unite !!

Even fart-arsed amateurs from Mick land read here.

    Phil it’s funny and interestin’

You seem like a good guy and I get the humour so I raise a glass (or 2 or 3 or whatever)

  5. The hits from Aussies, Poms, Canucks and Kiwis are likely inflated, as the readers have to leave the blog momentarily, to research what the ‘ken hell Cederq is rabbiting on about, only to realise after consulting a Webster’s dictionary, tool lexicon or web-search engine, that say; a Crescent wrench, is just an ordinary shifting spanner. Hey Phil, have you ordered a metric offset Crescent wrench for Cederq yet? He’ll be needing one to work on his made-in-Malaysia GM product.

  6. Fellows I’m not sure at all whether “this” might be the whole splanation but it might possibly some bit of it. A pal of mine lives mebbe forty miles west of me (Arkansas) has his VPN occasionally set to some location east of the Urals. ‘Bout the only time he’s got it off is when he’s doing his online banking and some other bits of stuff where his actual location is required for authentication, mostly health and etc type stuff as I understand it.

Now I’d have to must admit that the numbers of hits seems abit too damn many for the VPN-thingy to be the entire shebang – I mean like it seems to me that intentionally setting one’s “apparent location” to be where the hits are apparently coming from, as I say, it seems to me at this particoolar moment in time to be kinda of a iffy proposition strategy-wise.

Now I have in the past told my pal about this here site and after reading this post some minutes ago called him up and tolt him (I purposefully didn’t ask whether he’s using his VPN here) But anyway I tolt him – in mebbe his better interests it maybe wasn’t such a hot idea.

(Well … maybe, after a fashion it could be a “hot” idea but it’d take some convincing for me to come around to thinking it’d be the kinda “hot” that’d be particularly appealing to such as myself.)

  7. Phil, I feel certain that he will be just as happy with a cheap ambi model as a dedicated cackhander model. Your international readership levels can be explained by you hitting a common nerve, all peoples enjoying down to earth humour, and also images of older machines, made when each product had character and brand recognition was important for customer loyalty. Today it can be difficult to tell one make from another with bland generic styling. Strewth, Phil, you even have ladylike lady readers!

  8. Could be using proxy chains. Could possibly be using an OS like Tails which uses TOR to reach out and touch someone. The nodes being used can be located anywhere in the world.

  9. Hey guys, I think it’s me. In fact, I’m pretty sure of it. It’s just that I’ve had the alphabet agencies tracking me. So many I may as well collect the whole set. I drag those like a starship through a magnetic mine field.

Then there are those who track the 3 letter goobers. That’s including other countries. Maybe finally revealing themselves is them asking for help, you know, like a coded message. Set your decoder ring to F.

  10. I am an x-pat living in Mexico; I check your site every morning.
IF you noticed 1 less hit from Sri Lanka, that was maybe me,
    moving here……….

  11. Hate to be a wet blanket, well not really, however if anyone thinks that using a VPN puts their location and computer info beyond the reach of any of the .gov snoops who’s job it is to hunt down benign subversives like us, you haven’t been paying attention.

  12. Secret agents or Russians doesn’t matter. I once told my friend who moved to Kyrgistan that if I had to leave America I would go to Russia, white and Christian.

  13. Norway was probably me. I had my VPN set to there for a bit. Currently France. Going to go to Finland server next.
