I was born into a Ford family. One uncle was a lifer at the Ford Assembly Plant in Hapeville, Ga (suburban Atlanta). Another uncle said, “If Ford don’t make it, I don’t need one.” Until the son of the Ford plant uncle bought into a Dodge dealership. I guess discounts overcame tradition. Except for me. was buying Oldsmobiles by then since I’d married a woman with a ’68 Cutlass and never looked back. I thought a car had to have at least a 390 ’til I drove a 350.
That Mercury badged F-series pickup is a looker, for sure… I want one!
I had no idea those even existed. Wonder how rare they are these days? Probably not too many left. I’m not really a Ford guy, but one of those would make for a cool, offbeat resto-mod. Maybe drop a Chevy LS motor in it, just to bump up the WTF factor. Hahaha… 😂
Next Old Truck Tuesday I will have another Mercury truck in the line up. Mercury Trucks are a Canadian product.
Next Forday? Leigh should have at least one running by then. Surely?
ALL of my Fords run, there, Johno.
OK, well, except for my T-Bird. I’m not done with the engine swap.

Nice. I’ll be looking forward to it. Never even heard tale of a Merc pickup before, but I’m intrigued now. I always find it interesting how random, everyday things can be just a little bit different in ol’ Canada versus here in the states.
I’ll have to add F-series Mercurys to the list of vehicles to keep an eye out for, but will probably never get to own.
I don’t know if they still re-badge their F Series Mercurys in Canada. Chrysler’s Plymouth Division use to have Plymouth trucks here in the states and Dodge had Fargo up in Canada for their W series trucks.
Not a Chevy LS, a Ford Coyote motor.
That white 77 is a clean looking rig. I like it – a lot.
The 67-ish Merc is really nice. That is an unusual specimen of my favorite body style.
The blue 76 is in great condition, but another one with stupidly oversized wheels.
Some nice old F1’s, I like the ‘Bird, and the 289 ‘Stang.
Nice collection.
The photo bomb would have been better if it was front and center. I have a buddy that has a Rat Rod Panel Truck, about the same vintage. He ended up lowering it some, putting a Mustang II front clip in it, and powering it with a mild 350. I saw he has put a nice paint job on it, in the last couple of years. It’s a nice ride.
