  1. Love those big Pontiac’s with bigger engines. And I’ll take that Mercury, second photo.

    • For the eightieth time, I group all the GM products under Chevy, like I do Ford, Mercuries, Lincolns, and occasionally Chrysler (spit be on their name) under Dodge. I know when I put Pontiacs, Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Cadillacs and GMC under the heading.

      • My DeadDad actually had a 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix like that maroon one you got up there… 389 Tri-Power with 3 – 2 bbl carbs… t’was a total bitch to keep them in synch. We usually just left a holley 4 on it for the non-show driving around…

His was also the two tone white fake hard top with the aqua lower… damned good looking ride and fun to drive.

        • Those older Pontiac Grand Prixs are the BOMB! I wish I had one, drove a few and were excellent boulevard cruisers…

      • ” I group all the GM products under Chevy”.
Why wouldn’t you just like all GM under GM, instead of Chev? I’m confused.

        • Your confused? I am too… I like Chevys and that is what I use. I like the other GM brands, but I try to be different and enigmatic.

          • I framed my question badly.

Why, when you list the pics in groups, refer GM products (Chevy, Caddys, Buicks) as GM rather than Chevy? Or you use Chevy as generic for GM?

            • I do use Chevy as the Generic, I am a Chevy guy, so GM is Chevy, Chevrolet has saved GM as a corporation several times as Chevy’s are the every man’s car…

    • That’s because they’re GM just like the Mercury and Lincoln is part of Ford. Come on man!

  2. Mostly been a chevy dood but have had a couple worthwhile forays into fordville. Look at that orange mercury. jeeziss fukkin chryst!

  3. As a youngster, I once endured a New England to South Carolina road trip (and back) with the grandparents in a ’63 6 cyl. Dodge Dart wagon with vinyl seats and zero amenities. It was a harrowing experience but I lived to tell the tale….

  4. Had a high school classmate who always said Chevys were better than Fords.
Yet he was always fixing his Chevy.
Me, I drove my folks old Packard to school.

    • Funny, when old Fords are hot rodded, they seem to put in old Chevy engines and trannies in them, but never heard of old hotrodded Chevys with Ford engines and trannies in them…

    • My dear old departed dad loved his Packards! Last one he had until he died (2007) was a ’55 Clipper. Had the engine rebuilt, gas tank and fuel lines replaced for unleaded gas. Him and me rebuilt the whole car from frame up.

  5. I had a light blue ’70 Chevy K5 Blazer 4×4 back in the day. 307 engine with three on the tree. It wasn’t real fast, but it would climb a tree in four low.
