For your pleasure and edification…

Turning and turning in the widening gyre. The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.

The blood-dimmed ride is loosed, and everywhere. The ceremony of innocence is drowned.

The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity, Surely some revelation is at hand; Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

Reel shadows of the indigent desert birds. The darkness drops again; but now I know That twenty centuries of stony sleep Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle, And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

William Butler Yeats, “The Second Coming”

  1. We aren’t near the second coming yet. The Church will be removed soon so that God can turn his focus back to Israel for 7 years. We don’t know the exact time of the rapture, but we can know it is near. The countries that are part of the coalition that will invade Israel, detailed in Ezekiel 38 and 39, are getting closer and warmer in their relations. God fighting for Israel is the trigger for the “agreement with death” Israel will sign with teh Beast. That is also the start of the 7 year tribulation period which will be hell on earth.

  2. One of my favorites poems.
We can see the indicators and warnings that the center isnt holding, everything is broke, and breaking as we slowly tick, tick, tick up the slope of the roller coaster hill, anticipating the mere slow, almost pause once we peak, then the free-fall rush to the bottom with screams of horror, mouths a gape, vomiting and tears, from fear and lack of courage to accept and deal with the plunge. Then there are some that love the rush, keep their cigarette lit, kick back, put their arm around their girl and just smile, like true professionals. Enjoy the ride gents.

  3. As I view the planned insanity from my semi safe piece of Tennessee hills, “the centre cannot hold” regularly intrudes into my thoughts. Hang in there folks, be of good cheer, it drives (((Them)))mad.

  4. There once was a man from Nantucket
Who saw the state of the world and said…….

    • I left out several parts of the poem, one of the few joys of blog hosting is I have an editorial license to post what I wanna…

  5. Pretty sure Yeats didn’t put an apostrophe in that last “it’s”. He made it past elementary school.

    • I was typing that at 12:30 last night holding my book and trying not to nod unto the book…

Are you the designated grammar nazi this week?
