Actually, I always say that it’s not bad enough that they expect me to show up on time everyday, but that they actually expect me to DO THINGS when get there!
Just exactly who do you think you are, a Gubmint worker?
I always went to work late, but I made up for it by leaving early.

Last 20 years before I retired I worked 10 hour shifts. Supposed to be four days a week but was often five or six. Handled it pretty well until the last two years. Those two years the last two hours just seemed to get longer and longer. Probably a combination of hitting 65 and my severe back issues.
I remember working 12 hour shifts and thinking nothing of it when I was in my mid 30s. Sucks getting old!
Yep. Mr. Time sure takes a toll on ya. At 20 we were pulling 18-hour timelines (Military), off shift for 6, lather rinse and repeat. Once had a Code Change extravaganza where ALL of our teams got 5 hours sleep in 8 days.
I now can’t sit for more’n 30 minutes before I falls asleep. Somehow, being within a few months of 70 has taken its toll.
Stealing that. The new thing is “quiet quitting”. Sorry not in my DNA so staying out of the work force, they can keep the worthless low paid help.
