Years ago I read a story by Carrol LeFon, also known as “Lex” by the commentariat he collected, about a newbie in the squadron who had to have a flight physical. The doc had made arrangements with the Corpsman assisting him to pull a nasty stunt on the guy during the prostate exam. The doc put the gloves on, lubed the finger, and he placed his left hand on the left shoulder of the patient at the same time the Corpsman reached behind the screen and put his hand on the patient’s right shoulder. The Flight Surgeon said the patient reacted rather precipitously and almost broke the doc’s wrist.
Alas, Lex was killed at Fallon in March of 2012. He is a man much missed by those that knew him.
