Yep, woke up, made a fresh pot, snagged a donut and my smokes this morning and stepped outside.
Fuuuuuuck, that.
It’s a sheet of ice out there.
Finished my smoke, came inside and I ain’t even going to TRY and go anywhere out in that mess.
I hope everyone is safe and warm.
Hunker down and wait it out.
Yep, stay home and drink coffee and surf youtube.
Yes siree.
10 inches so far and 5F with 45 mph winds. Cleared my drive once, now in fuckit mode as the city plow made a 2 FT berm at the end.
Need to ambush that motherfucker with an ice axe…
LOL!
Front went through about 9:00 am (EST), went from 36 degrees to 20 in a hour. Currently -2, with 35 mph wind gusts, 20 mph steady. Bad roads kept me from the pain of going to dinner at the outlaws – dodged that bullet
Sometimes a guy just gets lucky…
Wow, you’re smarter than you look (I’m not). Good Plan.
It’s come from the hard earned experience of making tons of really bad decisions in the past.
I hope all y’all are feelin better. We got smacked a bit here in west Texas but nothing like y’all.
Regular heat wave here today, we doubled our morning temp twice.
well, according to Ventusky, it is -11 outside now. but I have both woodstoves going
right now and the house is a warm 75 plus or so. basement is at half blast and 80
according to the wall temp. it is about 5 foot off the floor. have to keep the pepes warm you know. and there is no reason to leave the house. went food shopping on Tuesday and fill in anything we might be low on, not much as I keep the shelfs stocked as well as I can. have enough firewood stacked inside to last a week easy
so, other than the dog having to go out. why open the door ?
as long as the power says on, there no need to go out. if the power does go out,
I have to go start the genny up. not a problem as it stored in the basement.
fuel is outside though.
stay inside and stay warm everyone as cold like this kill people fast.
Similar view here, but I smoked my cigarette while looking out the kitchen window. Fuck that cold shit.
Well, that and I can only see a couple of neighbors. I’m in the country.
Not quite that bad here in Texas. 22 Degrees with 12 mph winds out of the NE. No snow but patchy ice on roads. Yesterday it was 10 degrees so I guess you can say we are improving?
I have a new saying: “When the temp is your shoe size you need to make tracks back to your warm bed.” 😉🖕
Must be Winter, eh?
;P
