  1. The Sunreef Explorer electric catamaran has “ Two 540kW motors and two 550 kWh battery packs give the ability to cross oceans”

Umm, those batteries will run the motors for one hour.
Must be a mighty small ocean!

Oh, but it’s got solar power – luckily there’s no night once you’re on the water.

    • The solar panels can be raised to make a sail.

And it also comes with a single oar with no oarlock.

      • I looked around on their website & couldn’t find a weight on the boat. I’m guessing that they have to be pulled up on a rail & not by a travel lift.

  2. EV sales are down in the US. Ford is reducing production. Yet the bureaucrats are rushing ahead as if there’s some huge demand just on the horizon.

We still don’t have the grid capacity for distributing the power necessary for this imagined electric future.

Oh, anyone else notices the stories about extra wear on roadways from EVs due the extra weight? Or the increased cost of tires – also due to weight, but also higher potential torque?

  3. if the Hummer came in a gas or diesel version i would buy one in a heartbeat. something like that is what i have been looking for.
    no shit.

  4. Gotta be a typo on the first one 605KW panel is 30,000 square feet if I did my calculations correctly. Plus that a hell lot of wattage, even for a car.

The boat must go really fast as the batteries will only power the motors for one hour, but they say it will cross oceans….

  5. It’s all an great lie just as the climate change ‘science’ isn’t based on verifiable scientific method. Most high voltage transmission lines will need replacing, substations will need huge upgrades while brown outs and electrical fires become the new normal. I don’t see many five year old evs on the road, just shiny brand new ones.

  6. Cant wait for the empty pill bottles with an old school metal sparkler sticking out the top start showing up on top of all the chargers

  7. The criminals in power are having a lot of difficulty in forcing Americans to dump
gas/diesel in favor of EVs. So their next tactic will be the forced elimination of gas stations. Having a petroleum fueled vehicle won’t be much use if you can’t get fuel for it and the left wants ALL such vehicles GONE, permanently.

  8. Electric storage (in batteries) DOES NOT HAVE the energy density of hydrocarbon fuel. Period.

All the calculations I did for the Commuter Car – http://www.commutercar.com – showed that it had the same energy equivalent in the battery pack as a half-gallon of gasoline. Physics can’t be denied…

  9. The biggest investor in Shell is blackrock. If you have money in it, get out now.

  10. In the first decade of the 1900s, steam, electric and gas engined cars each had a 1/3 share of the market. Steam becomes impractical at 32F or below, imagine having to drain the water from your car every time you parked it in the winter. Electrics had range problems then and still do today.
Gas engined cars won out in the marketplace because they are simply better. More range, greater practicality, and the initial price is less expensive too. Today engines last 200,000 miles or more and can be rebuilt or replaced for less $$$ than a battery pack and are easily recycled.

  11. Article I read this past week on Ford F150 production indicates that the company is laying off workers at the plant because there’s almost no demand for electric trucks and there’s already a HUGE stock pile of unsold F150 EV’s sitting around waiting for buyers.

‘Course that article about the range problem written by one of Ford’s top managers several months ago didn’t help.

One of the things that has always amazed me about this whole EV push BS is the major car companies signing on to produce these losers. Car companies have always had pretty good market research arms in their marketing dept’s. You’d think that they would have done the focus group work to determine that most people can’t afford the astronomical cost penalty of acquiring one and EV’s are not ready for prime time mainly due to charging and electric grid infrastruture being inadequate for the task.

‘Course this is all being pushed by the utterly false “climate change and we’re running out of oil” agendas.

Friday night I was watching a local news program about the eclipse. The chief of police of the town where I’m going to observe the event gave a flat out warning: “don’t drive your EV up here. We don’t have any chargers in town and the nearest one is 100 miles away.” I thought that was pretty funny.

  12. i do love filling up in 5 minutes at the rest stops and watching the virtuous folks having to wait for hours to get a full charge for their cars.

  14. And meanwhile in Soviet Jersey*, Premier Horseface just added $250 to the yearly registration cost of the electric turds ’cause they ain’t payin into the ever increasing gas tax.

  15. The GMC Hummer Earthcruiser comes already equipped with reefer?

    *chuckles*

Do they also supply a pack of rolling papers, or does it also come with a built-in water pipe?
