    • So, you haven’t encountered “Rivendel” from the Fly By Night album? Or “Closer to the Heart”?

      I played the shit out of Fly By Night back in the day. Got a lot of crap for it too, until 2112 came out, then suddenly, everyone was a Rush fan. Pissed me off when they put a rap in “Roll the Bones”. WTF?

      Did you see they’re going on tour? Found a shit-hot drummer to play with them, and it’s a chick. Only 5 cities in the US, so I won’t be seeing them – I’d have to go to Dallas, and that ain’t happening. Who can afford concerts these days, let alone a plane ticket and hotel room?

      • Yeah, I’ve heard it. Nothing personal, they’re just not my thing. You ought to go see them, though. Money not gonna be worth anything to you when you’re dead. You owe it to yourself, we used to say, and it’s true.

    I’ve been on a Rush kick the past couple of days going through their 2112, Caress of Steel, Permanent Waves, A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, and Moving Pictures albums (yes, albums). Brought back a hell of a lot of memories.

  7. The seventies were probably the best decade for good rock music. Alot of weed was consumed listening to 2112. So I was told.
