What if they are that Mexican breed that just plain hates everyone it ever sees? You know, the one looks like a Miniature Fox Terrier got knocked up by a rat.
That the best description of that nasty excuse of a dog I’ve ever read. Thank-you! I’m still laughing!
Now Judy, I own a Chihuahua named Guido… and yes, she has a temper and is aggressive, why I call her my 10# Rottweiler… but she is sweet and well behaved, Phil can attest to that, he has meet her and held her… So has Igor and has been in both their houses.
The only other dog breed that I dislike on sight is a Pomeranian. My favorites are the working breeds usually in the hound or spaniel classes. You must of worked very hard to teach your dog some manners cause I have only met one Chihuahua that was well behaved.
Judy, I too have always had working breed dogs, Border Collies, Aussie Shepard, Aussie Cattle dogs, Queensland Heelers. My Chihuahua was my wife’s dog and when we separated and divorced she was to going to abandon her if I didn’t take her. I took her. Working breeds are easy to train and correct aberrant behaviors… I learned a whole new lesson with Guido, willful, temper and stubbornness are manifold in Chihuahuas. It did take a lot of love and understanding and repetitive training but I did it. I didn’t train like I would have with my working dogs but to behave, be social-able and learn some basic heel commands. I have had her now for over eight years now and have owned her since she was 8 weeks old and she is now 14. Loves to travel as for most of that eight years I had a travel trailer and a pick up and went to all of the hidden places in the South and Mid west.
Many a client has been subjected to the dog test. It works.
Where does that put me if the owner says I’m an asshole, yet their dog loves me?
All 5 of my GSDs possessed that ability. Not a liar in the bunch.
There’s a reason I like dogs better’n people, and Dogs like me.
And BOY, are they good at it, too!
