we got a new puppy close to a month ago, he does wake me up when he has to go out. for this, he gets a lot of good boy noise as I rather wake up than find he took a dump in the living room. I don’t remember the old dog taking as long to house train
but he was a ridgeback and smart as hell. you could just watch him figuring things out. most of the time it was something you didn’t want him doing !
funny thing, as big as he was, he was really quick. killed a few coons around here and never a cut or mark on his ass?
he was very big on protecting kids too, used to break free and run over to the neighbors to check on his little girls when they made noise.
he used to run up to them, look them over and then lick the hell out off their faces
and then stand around and watch over them.
more than once I had to go over there so he could get his girls in to eat or whatever. slim never tried to bite Gary, but he did stay between him and his kids
